synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 98-Q-26 is issued
as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 97-03. This action is a 100% small business
set-aside. The SIC code is 3442 Fabricated Structural Metal Products,
and the small business size standard is 500. The U.S. Secret Service
has a requirement for the manufacture, delivery, and installation of
one (1) 16 feet wide by 8 feet high garage door with perforated
curtain, 100,000 cycle springs, 1 HP motor operator, ingress/egress
pads, bottom safety edges and electric eye safety system. Electrical
service will be brought to the new garage area by athird party, however
contractor will be responsible to make all necessary electrical
connections at the new location to make all the doors operable. The
U.S. Secret Service has a further requirement for the relocation and
reinstallation of four rolling steel doors from within the existing
garage to a new location within the same garage. All offerors will be
required to make a site visit to the existing garage to examine the
existing steel doors, and the relocation site. Offerors will be
responsible for making any and all necessary field measurements prior
to submitting their proposal. The contractor shall deliver the complete
quantity; FOB Destination U.S. Secret Service, 7 World Trade Center;
New York, NY, 10048. Delivery within fifteen (15) days of receipt of
award. The Government intends to award a firm, fixed price contract, to
the offeror whose quotation conforming to the specification will be the
most price advantageous to the Government. All responsible small
business sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation that will be
considered by the USSS. Please note, price quotes by fax transmission
will not be accepted. All responsbile offerors shall mail quotes to the
U.S. Secret Service, Procurement Division, 1310 L Street, NW, Suite
730, Washington, DC 20223, Attn: K. Wilson; no later than 12:00 p.m.
(noon) on Wednesday, April 8, 1998. All proposals should include
documentation showing how their product meets the technical
requirements. Award is anticipated within thirty (30) days of receipt
