66 -- MICROWAVE AMPLIFIER SOL NT910-800053DT POC Doris Turner, Purchasing Agent, PH: 303-497-3872 or FX: 303-497-3163 E-MAIL: NOAA; MASC Acquisition Management, Doris.P.Turner@noaa.gov. The National Telecommunication and Information Administration (NTIA) requires a microwave amplifier with the following specifications: 1) Broadband microwave amplifier covering 4.2 to 18 GHz frequency. 2) Output power: 20 watts for a CW signal. 3) Class A, TWT (Traveling Wave Tube). 4) Power requirement: 120 VAC, 60 Hz, single phase, 750 VA maximum. 5) Input and output impedance: 50 ohms. 6) Input power: 0 dbm maximum. 7) Input VSWR less than 2.0:1. 8) Modulation capability: amplifier needs to be able to reproduce AM, FM and pulsed modulations. 9) Computer interface: An IEEE 488.2 (GPIB) interface required. 10) Gain adjustment: The unit needs to be able to adjust gain on the amp by control knob and computer control. 11) Weight: Under 100 lbs. Due to unit being carried in mobile vehicle. 12) Outputs: Besides a regular output port, a sampling port is required to monitor signal being transmitted. 13) Cooling requirements: the unit needs to be self-cooled, so no connections are needed for cooling. Interested sources proposing to supply an equivalent system must submit a written qualification statement clearly establishing capability to meet the above requirements within 15 days from the date of this synopsis. The qualification statements will be used to determine the need for competitive bids. In the absence of other qualified sources, it is the intent of the Government to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with Amplifier Research, 160 School Road, Souderton, PA 18964-9990 as this source is considered to be the only responsible source and no other items will satisfy agency requirements. This simplified acquisition will be based upon the best value to the Government, with technical merit and past performance being significantly more important than price. Terms and conditions and agency level protest procedures are reference at http://netsite.esa.doc.gov. No RFQ package is available. (0083)
