66 -- PRESSURE TUNABLE HIGH SPEED GAS CHROMATOGRAPH SOL 98C140(Q) DUE 041498 POC Grace White, Contract Specialist, (404) 842-6553 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/National Center for Environmental Health (CDC/NCEH) intends to award a sole source purchase order to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, for one custom-made pressure tunable/programmable high speed gas chromatograph. The system is to be used for high speed, congener selective analysis by gas chromatography, and must demonstrate high speed separation of a mixture of purgeable organics (such as the sample components used in EPA procedure 624). Performance standard is complete separation of all peaks of such a mixture, at baseline resolution, in under two (2) minutes. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for a commercial item. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be deemed nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to conduct a competitive procurement based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
