The Department of Energy, through its Golden Field Office (GO), is planning a competitive solicitation for the management and operation of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located in Golden Colorado. It is anticipated that the Request for Proposals (RFP) will be released during May 1998. To ensure placement on the list of interested parties who will be notified of the availability of the RFP, a written request must be submitted (please see fax, e-mail and mailing instructions below) on or before the date of the second public meeting (see below). The organization's name and address, a point of contact and the e-mail address and telephone number of the point of contact must be included in the request. The RFP, and all other information related to the RFP, will be posted on the GO home page (see address below) as soon as it is available, however, only those organizations included aforementioned list will receive notification of its posting. As part of the planning process, two public meetings are being scheduled to present information regarding the anticipated competition and to gather comments regarding the draft Statement of Work and draft evaluation criteria to be used in contractor selection. One meeting will be held in the Denver, CO area and the other in the Washington DC area. The meetings will be scheduled for three hours each and are tentatively scheduled for April 15th in Denver and April 17th in Washington. Any form of comment will be accepted including e-mail at mlkinsey@earthlink.net and faxes at (303) 236-4125. Written comments will be accepted at either of the two meetings or through the mail at the following address: U.S. Department of Energy, Golden Field Office, D-140, P.O. Box 25007 Denver Federal Center, Denver, Colorado 80225-0007. To allow a forum for verbal public comments, the meeting agenda will include time for presentations by the public. These presentations will be limited to five (5) minuets each and must be coordinated in advance through the GO for specific times.Due to the meeting time constraints (three hours each) GO reserves the right to limit the number of presenters. Presentations will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. Contact Marlys Kinsey at (303) 236-4123 on or before April 7th, 1998 to arrange a time slot. The draft Statement of Work, draft evaluation criteria and specific times, dates and locations of the meetings will be posted on the Golden Field Office Home Page at www.eren.doe.gov/golden/ in late March.
