Drug Abuse is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having
the capability to analyze, purify, and characterize a number of
peptides. Additionally, organizations must have the capability to
develop sensitive analytical methods for determining peptide purity.
All compounds to be utilized under this proposed project will be
provided to the successful offeror by NIDA. The prospective offeror
must possess the necessary equipment and facilities for this project.
Additionally, it must have extensive experience in general purity
determination of peptides, and in opioid peptides specifically. It is
estimated that a five year incrementally, funded cost-reimbursement
(completion) type contract will be awarded with five one year options.
RFP No. N01DA-8-7072 will be available electronically on or about
April 20, 1998 and may be accessed through the Internet at the

Please note that the RFP for this acquisition will be streamlined to
include only the Work Statement, Deliverables and Reporting
Requirements, Special Requirements and Mandatory Qualifications,
Technical Evaluation Criteria, and other necessary Proposal Preparation
Instructions. All information required for the submission of an offer
will be contained in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal
submission and the initial review process, offerors comprising the
competitive range may be requested to provide additional documentation
to the Contracting Officer. Responses to the RFP will be due on or
about June 4, 1998. Any responsible offeror may submit a proposal which
will be considered by the Government. This advertisement does not
