format in FAR Part 12.6 and 13 as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a WRITTEN
SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The solicitation number for this
request for quotation is 50875024. This solicitation and incorporated
provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition
Circular 97-03. This solicitation is issued under a 100 percent small
business set aside. The Standard Industrial Code is 3559 and applies
to businesses with less that 500 employees. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC) has a requirement for a Gamma Spectroscopy system
along with upgraded electronics for an existing germanium detector.
Specifications: A) high purity germanium coaxial detector:
transferrable capsule configuration: detector mounted in a vacuum
sealed capsule that can be transferred from one cryostat to another.
Relative photo peak efficiency: > 50%. Resolution: < 1.90 KeV
FWHM @ 1332 KeV Co-60, < 875 eV FWHM @ 122 KeV Co-57. Peak to
compton ratio: > 64:1. Detectable energy range: 40 KeV to 10 MeV.
Cryostat configuration: vertical dipstick cryostat, 30 liter dewars,
temperature sensing automatic high voltage shutdown circuit -- quantity
one each. B) computer controlled integrated gamma spectroscopy system:
triangular filter amplifier with auto pole zero circuit (nonvolatile
PZ setting). 16K ADC, 16K memory 231 -1 counts per channel, computer
controlled detector bias supply -- quantity two each. C) personal
computer interface (IBM compatible) -- quantity two each. D) gamma
spectroscopy analysis software, 32 bit, running in windows NT --
quantity one each. E) additional copies of gamma spectroscopy software
-- quantity two each. F) reference software for gamma spectroscopy
nuclide analysis -- quantity two each. G) portable MCA with laptop
computer including cables, batteries, battery charger/eliminator --
quantity one each. H) MCA software (16 and 32 bit versions) -- quantity
one each. I) in-situ gamma spectroscopy software running on windows 95
-- quantity one each. J) carrying case for portable MCA -- quantity
one each. K) variable length tripod -- quantity one each. L) on-site
training for approximately six individuals by service engineer for
gamma spectroscopy software. The contractor shall deliver the software
and provide the training to NRC's Region III Office located at 801
Warrenville Road, Lisle, Illinois. The following clauses and provisions
are applicable and hereby incorporated into this solicitation by
reference and will be provided by the contracting officer in full text
