COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 13,1998 PSA#2051Cdr, AMC Acquisition Center, CBD COM Branch, Attn: STEAA-CD-C, 5232
Fleming Road, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21010-5423 A -- DYE MARKER AND FILL MATERIALS DUE 040398 POC Technical Point of
Contact Lawrence A. Bickford (410) 671-2231 The Target Defeat Team,
Research and Technology Directorate, Edgewood Research, Development and
Engineering Center (ERDEC) is interested in gathering information on
existing items in the commercial sector that pertain to 1) a hand
thrown dye marker 2)marker and dye materials. The hand thrown dye
marker would be used by Military Police to mark aggressors and riot
leaders in civil disturbances during peacekeeping missions. The dye
marker could also be used to mark equipment and vehicles. Examples of
this type of marker are "paint ball" grenades that are used in
recreational activities. Ideally, the dye marker would be capable of
being hand thrown, be impact activated upon the intended target, be
minimally harmful to the target, be used over a wide temperature range
(cold to hot environments) and cannot be thrown back as a potentially
hazardous projectile. There is also interest in various marking
materials that may be able to be used in such a device as the hand
thrown dye marker and other devices. Thesematerials range from typical
visible paints and dyes, UV-activated dyes, Infrared emitting
materials or combinations of spectral marking materials. There is no
commitment on the part of the U.S. Army to award a contract as a result
of this request for information nor to pay for the information
received. Interested sources should provide written notification and
include product literature and price lists by 3 April 1998. Potential
suppliers should send information to U.S. Army CBDCOM, ATTN: SCBRD-RTB
