The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Electromagnetic Fields Division, Boulder, CO intends to enter into a nonpersonal services contract with Dr. Carl Stubenrauch, 3490 Emerson Avenue, Boulder, CO 80303, on a sole source basis for the completion of critical near-field measurement projects in which Dr. Stubenrauch was involved prior to his retirement. The services required are needed to fulfill NIST contractual obligations and to ensure an orderly transfer of Dr. Stubenrauch's technical knowledge to NIST staff. Technical assistance provided will include, but not be limited to, the following: spherical near- field measurements, cylindrical near-field scanning, evaluation of quiet zone field quality in antenna test ranges, and infrared measurement of microwave fields. This service contract is not to exceed one year. This notice is for informational purposes only; no solicitation is available. Any responses to this notice received by March 27, 1998 will be evaluated solely to determinewhether or not a competitive procurement for this requirement would be in the best interests of the Government. This procurement is being conducted pursuant to Simplified Acquisition Procedures (less than $100,000) for noncommercial services and is set aside for small business. The provisions of FAR 52.213-4 Terms and Conditions-Simplified Acquisitions (Other Than Commercial Items)(Feb 1998) are hereby incorporated by reference.
