TECHNOLOGIES (TADSBAT) Training and Development of Small Business in
Advanced Technologies (TADSBAT) The NASA Small Business Training
Program The National Aeronautics and Space Administration seeks to
increase the number of Small Businesses that successfully compete for
and win NASA contract and subcontracts. In order to achieve this
purpose and annually meet or exceed NASA's Small Disadvantaged Business
(SDB) goal, mandated by the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, the
Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization at NASA
Headquarters in Washington, DC, is sponsoring a unique and dynamic
training and development program as a means of providing critical
Business Management Assistance to all small businesses. The objective
of this training program is to enhance the ability of these firms to
successfully compete for contracts in the highly technical and complex
environment of NASA. The 1998 courses represents the fifth year for
this successful program. The course is designed for firms with
capability to participatein NASA's most complex programs. The enhanced
knowledge that will be gained through this unique course will result
in increased success in competing for NASA contracts. Most importantly,
NASA is offering these valuable courses with no registration cost to
participants. This course will cover three days of Instruction and will
include, bot not limited to, the following Business Management topics:
o DISCOVERING the uniqueness of doing business with NASA and how to
reach the decision makers o INCREASING knowledge for effectively making
bid versus no-bid decision o INCREASING knowledge base in business
development, alternative financing, and project management o
UNDERSTANDING how to leverage in subcontracting and teaming agreements
o IMPROVING overall ability to successfully compete in NASA's highly
technical aerospace environment with an understanding of Performance
Based Contracting issues o ENHANCING adequacy of financial systems
requirements for R&D cost type contracts o ENHANCING knowledge for
audit readiness o ENHANCING proposal preparation capability o
INCREASING knowledge of the NASA Mentor-Protege Program and the
benefits to participating companies TO APPLY The Small Business

ELIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Participants will be selected from Small, Small
Disadvantaged, Women-Owned Businesses, Historically Black
Colleges/Universities (HBCU's and Minority Institutions (MIs).
Firms/educational institutions must possess technical capabilities
related to NASA's mission and the four strategic enterprises as
discussed in NASA's Strategic Plan located at the following NASA

years. HBCUs/MIs are also eligible. Advanced Course (TADSBAT II):
