Control Division (APPCD) of the Natonal Risk Management Research
Laboratory (NRMRL) located at the Research Triangle Park, North
Carolina has a requirement for on-site contract services to provide
laboratory technical support of the research that is directed toward
solving environmental problems national in scope and importance. The
APPCD serves as the U.S. EPA's center for air pollution prevention and
control research and pursues this research in one-of-a-kind facilities
that have been developed and refined over the past twenty years. The
APPCD focuses its efforts on the study of fundamental kinetics, fuel
combustion, waste incineration, flue gas cleaning, indoor air quality,
global climate change, industrial pollution prevention, and emissions
characterization. Services required will include the conduct of
laboratory and bench- and pilot-scale research in APPCD's on-site
facilities. Categories of labor required include engineers, scientists,
chemists, and engineering technicians. U.S. EPA intends to award an
Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract for a maximum
of 750,000 labor hours over a five year period. A pre-proposal
conference/site visit may occur; details will be included in the RFP.
The purpose of this CBD announcement is to notify potential offerors of
EPA's requirement, generate a source list, and to direct interested
parties to the EPA's "Doing Business with EPA" Internet World Wide Web
site at http://www.epa.gov/oam/c for further information on this
procurement as it becomes available. The RFP, amendments and other
related items for this procurement will be posted to the Web site and
can be downloaded. Interested parties must forward requests to be
