The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Mettler-Toledo, 69 Princeton-Hightstown Road, Hightstown, NJ 08520-0071 on a sole-source basis for the following items: (1) HD1006 METTLER TOLEDO Weight Handler for immersed density with special turntable and 10MHz crystal for educed turntable speed; and (2) HD1005 METTLER TOLEDO Modified Weight Handler for T1005 (HD1005 includes installation). Required delivery is FOB Destination Gaithersburg, Maryland) within 60 days after contract award. The Government intends to solicit one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), "Only One Responsible Source," because Mettler-Toledo is the only known source able to provide weight handlers compatible with the Agency's existing METTLER TOLEDO AT1005 Comparator. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by theGovernment not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Written responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. (0064)
