DESC: 4240-01-361-1319, Part Number 5-3-1520, Item: C2A1 Canister. The C2A1 Canister is a type of gas mask canister used to protect against chemical agents, biological agents and radioactive dust. The canister shall be constructed per Performance Specification MIL-PRF-51560A. Canister consists of Activated Charcoal and Particulate Filter Media. Materials used shall pose no potential inhalation or skin contact hazard to the user. Interface requirements include, but are not limited to: Canister Carrier Shell and Cover used with the M42 Series Mask and Motor Blower Assembly Unit for the M43 Series Mask. Canister shall have NATO standard threads. Overall nominal height of the canister is 3.0 inches and diameter not to exceed 4.2 inches. This is a best value procurement, and past performance, technical and quality factors will be evaluated along with price. Award of a 5 year requirements type contract is anticipated.
