D. Moulton Code 533.3G Item 0001- Rental of 20 Ton Chiller, Estimated
quantity 27 Weeks. The Chiller shall be a portable, air cooled, self
contained unit. The chiller shall be equipped with an automatic
variable capacity control, requiring only initial temperature
adjustment by the operator and capable of providing continuous
operation through a range of 5 -- 20 tons cooling loads. The unit shall
be designed for continuous operation and storage, out-of- doors in a
moist, sal laden 10 degrees to 95 degrees F environment. The unit shall
be throttable so as to deliver up to 50 GPM at a differential pressure
of 125 ft. Pump shut-off head shall not exceed 140 psig. Water
discharge temperature is to be 40 degrees -- 45 degrees F. All
components shall be mounted on a single rigid steel base with slots for
forklift and four (4) lighting pads to permit safe handling using an
overhead crane. The unit componenets shall be completely wired and
ready to operate. The unit shall only require a single point connection
to 460 VAC, 3 phase, 60 cycle input power source to operate. The unit
shall be equipped with a 50 ft power supply cable. The unit shall
include a permanently mounted control panel with instruments as
necessary to operate and monitor the unit. The unit shall be provided
with completely wired safety, capacity, and operating controls such as
circuit breakers, motor overload protection, high and low pressure
cut-outs, etc. The unit shall include the compressor motor starter and
chill water pump starter. All electrical components shall conform to
NEMA standards. The unit piping shall be completely piped such that the
customer need only to connect to the chill water discharge connections.
The unit shall be equipped with an expansion tank, a single 2" NPT
chill water discharge connection, and a single 2" NPT water return
connection. The unit shall be fully charged and delivered in a
ready-to-use condition. The vendor shall be responsible for initial
start-up of the chiller, instruct designated shipyard personnel on how
to properly run the unit, and provide a set of operating instructions.
The vendor shall provide filters and lubricant for the duration of and
shall be responsible for all routine maintenance, i.e. refrigerant
charging, change oil, filters, etc except for daily check of liquid
levels. The unit shall meet all local, state and federal requirements
for equipment of this type. The vendor shall be responsible for
equipment failure not arising out of abuse or negligence by the
Government. Service shall be provided within 24 hours after
notification by the Contracting Officer or his representative. In the
event the machine cannot be returned to service within 48 hours of
notification, a replacement shall be delivered at no extra charge to
the Government. The technical representative must be an American
Citizen. The vendor must provide a point of contact for requesting
service if problems arise with the equipment. FOB Destination. Item
