The U.S. EPA, Water Supply and Water Resources Division, National Risk Management Research Laboratory is soliciting assistance in conducting a series of well designed and controlled laboratory experiments to provide data on the kinetics of seven oxidants to convert arsenic III to arsenic V in a variety of source waters. Under the scope of work, the contractor will first produce a quality assurance project plan (QAPP) according to USEPA requirements describing the test procedures to be followed and a listing of the laboratory tests to be conducted. Following EPA QAPP approval, the contractor shall conduct series of laboratory tests to develop data on the capability of seven different oxidants/oxidizing processes to convert arsenic III to arsenic V. At the completion of the tests, a report shall be prepared documenting the test procedures and test results following USEPA report preparation procedures. EPA intends to issue a request for a written quotations(RFQ). The RFQ will be issued on or about 16 Mar 1998.
