The National Park Service is conducting market research to seek qualified sources capable of providing exterior decorative painting services. This is a Sources Sought Announcement; this is not a Request for Proposals and no solicitation package is currently available. All entities responding to this Sources Sought Notice must have the capability to perform the described services. The applicable Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this Notice is 8999, "Artists." These services would be performed on-site at the Natchez National Historical Park, a unit of the National Park Service, located in Natchez, MS. The services required would include the following steps: identifying original marbelizing techniques used on the columns and other external surfaces of a circa-1840 antebellum mansion; preparing an illustrative design to recreate the marble finish; applying or "marbelizing" the surface; applying a clear finish/weathering coat to the surface; and providing instructions and techniques for preserving the finished work. All work would be accomplished by skilled artisans who possess demonstrated ability in historic restoration/recreations of this nature. Business concerns who believe they are qualified to perform the services described are requested to submit a qualifications and capability statement detailing: 1) credentials that qualify them to perform this type service; 2) a listing of similar projects performed; and 3) a list of at least three references (including telephone numbers and points of contact) who can verify the information submitted.
