synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation number is
DTCG89-98-Q-612306 and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-03. This acquisition is
unrestricted under SIC Code 3678. The contract type will be firm fixed
price. The Government proposes to solicit quotes for the following
items: Item 001, Coaxial transmission line 1 5/8 inch, QTY -- 11,000 ft
(Eleven thousand feet). Description: Dielectric Material: Air; Power
Rating: 25 Kilo Watts at 30 MHz. Impedance: Fifty (50) ohms. Velocity
of Propagation: No less than ninety (90) percent. Attenuation
(dB/100ft): Attenuation will be less than the following: .035 dB at 2
MHz; .045 dB at 4 MHz; .060 dB at 6 MHz; .070 dB at 8 MHz; .075 dB at
10 MHz; .080 dB at 12 MHz. Cable Construction: Inner and outer
conductors will be manufactured of corrugated copper that will allow
for a minimum bending radius of no less than twenty inches. The
construction of the cable shall allow for direct burial into the earth
without the need of conduit or piping. NOTE: CABLE SHOULD BE PROVIDED
ON 3000 FOOT SPOOLS IF POSSIBLE. Items 002 and 003, 20 EA Connectors
(Gas Pass) 1 5/8 inch and 10 EA Connectors (Gas Block) 1 5/8 inch with
the following specifications: type: Coaxial with EIA flange. Coaxial
connectors with EIA flange to mate with the one and five eight's inch
air dielectric cable requested as item 001 above. Manufacturer: The
manufacturer of the required connectors needs to be the same
manufacturer as that of the coaxial cable in which they are intended to
be use. This is to insure that the connectors provide an air tight seal
with the associated coaxial cable. Power Rating: The power rating of
these connectors should meet or exceed the power handling capabilities
of the coaxial cable listed as Item 001. Impendance: Fifty 50 ohms.
Construction: The body of the connectors should be of solid brass
construction. Inner conductors of the connector should be either silver
or gold plated to reduce corrosion build up. Dielectric material should
be of Teflon or other high strength dielectric material. Shipping and
Delivery: The contractor shall deliver to Coast Guard Communications
Station Kodiak, Anton Lason Road, Bldg-T1, Kodiak, AK 99619-0017 before
08/01/98. Crates/packages shall be marked with the purchase order
number, name and address of the contractor on the outside for
identifying purposes. Award will be based on the following criteria:
Lowest price of item that meets or exceeds specifications. The

allow the Contracting Officer to evaluate conformance with the
technical requirements as well as evaluate the offeror's past
performance qualifications and proposed delivery schedule. The
