Box 2412, Amman, Jordan The Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation is soliciting technical and financial proposals for the preparation of final design of the restructuring and rehabilitation of 16 distribution zones of greater Amman water supply system and construction supervision of 16 distribution zones. This project will be financed by USAID under the water strategic objective agreement, grant no. 278-0288. Project description: the main elements of the project are: -- preparation of all detailed designs, necessary to tender the proposed restructuring works which consists of preparation of all tender drawings, specifications, bill of quantities and contract document. -- Providing assistance to the Water Authority for tendering and evaluation of tenders. -- Supervision of construction of the restructuring and rehabilitation of 16 distribution zones of greater Amman water supply system. Potential u.S. Consulting engineering firms (who may subcontract with Jordanian consulting firms) may obtain the request for proposals (RFP)document in person from the Tenders Division, Water Authority, Ministry of Water and Irrigation, P.O. Box 2412. Amman, Jordan tel: 962-6- 5680100, fax: 962-6-5679143. The last date for obtaining the RFP document is not later than 12:00 noon (Jordan local time), March 25, 1998. A prebid conference not exceeding two days duration will be held in Amman. The first day of the conference will be used for a site visit to 16 distribution zones of greater Amman and the second day will be used for a conference to be held in the Water Authority, Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Amman. The dates for the period conference are April 1 and 2, 1998. The last date for the submission of proposals is not later than 12:00 noon (Jordan local time), May 10, 1998. (0057)
