R -- HUSBANDING SERVICES FOR THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS SOL N00189-98-R-0036 DUE 050198 POC E. Adams, Contracting Officer (757) 443-1437, facsimile (747) 443-1424 The Government requires husbanding services for the U.S. Virgin Islands. The services required are for the port of Cruz Bay (St. John Island), port of Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas Island), and the port of Frederiksted (St. Croix Island) for support services for various types of U.S. Navy and other U.S. Government vessels. The majority of the requirements will come from vessels involved in the annual UNITAS operation. U.S. Navy vessels expected to utilize the resultant contract include small craft (Class I ships with 40 crewmembers or less) up to Class V (aircraft carriers). Services will consist of trash removal, collection/holding/transfer (CHT) sewage removal, waste oil and aggregate water removal, fresh potable water, pilotage, tugboat services, crane services, brow (gangway) rental, cargo drayae/free time/demurrage/detention services, water taxi services, vehicle rental (sedans and buses), paint float rental, material handling equipment services, telephone services (landline and cellular), fender/camel rental, provisions (fresh fruit, vegetables, etc.), billing of airport services, administration/coordination of passenger handling services, and other miscellaneous services as detailed in the statement of work included in solicitation N00189-98-R-0036. Services are to be for one year with the option to procure services for two additional one-year periods. Solicitation issuance is projected as 30 March 1998 and a pre-proposal conference is anticipated (date to be specified in the solicitation).
