The Navy requires 14,000 each MK 44 MOD 0 Reserve Energizer batteries with an option for 7,000 additional batteries. The supplies shall be manufactured in accordance with NSWC Crane Specification and NAVSEA drawings. MIL-STD's-129, 202, 331, and 1167 are required by the specification. This Energizer is a lead/fluoboric acid/lead dioxide reserve battery. It has 4 internal stacks of 10 cells each and supplies a nominal 16 volts and 400 milliampere output. It is 1.05 inches long and 1.53 inches in diameter. A first article will be required within 210 days after contract award. Production deliveries are required commencing 270 days after contract award at the rate of 4,000 each per month until complete. Shipment shall be made FOB destination to NSWC, Crane, IN. Inspection and acceptance shall be at source. The procurement will be structured for a greatest value award, considering price and past performance. FAR Part 12 procedures will not be used. These batteries have no commercial application and are usedonly in the MK 44 MOD 0 System.
