A -- RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT TO DESIGN A FLASH RADIOGRAPHY ACCELERATOR SOL 10-EF-98 DUE 030598 POC Emma Fox, (702) 295-0507 Sources Sought. Bechtel Nevada is seeking sources to provide research and development support to assist Bechtel Nevada design a new flash radiography accelerator based on the linear induction accelerator concept to drive a magnetically immersed electron diode. The Subcontractor deliverables will be to design, engineer, and detail accelerator parts under direction of Bechtel Nevada and provide manufacture-quality component drawings. This new accelerator will be capable of providing a 12-16 MV (adjustable), approximately 80 ohm MITL, 50 ns (full width at 90% peak voltage) pulse with less than 20 ns 10-90 risetime and less than 30 kV of prepulse. The accelerator must also be capable of reconfiguration to drive two 6-8 MV pulses staggered in time (0-10 microseconds adjustable) either to one output load or to two separate loads. The accelerator design considerations will include flexibility for firing point designs. (0051)
