mluis@ak.blm.gov This solicitation is a combined synopsis/solicitation
and a bid package will not be issued. The Bureau of Land Management
(Alaska) has a requirement for one Voice Mail System to support their
Fairbanks Northern District Office. Voice Mail specifications are as
follows. Required: Interface with hybrid Nortel (Northern Telecom)
Meridian PABX. The common and network equipment is an Option 61C. The
peripheral equipment is SL1N shelves. The lines are a mix of analog and
SL1 multi-line. The system shall support 100 voice mailboxes and shall
be modularly expandable* to a minimum of 300 voice mailboxes. Number
of ports shall be for 100 voice mailboxes by purchased voice mail
package specifications. The number of ports and a minimum of 8 hours of
storage shall also be modularly expandable*. The voice mailbox shall be
programmed so that callers have the following capabilities: Be able to
immediately access a live person, dial another extension, or leave a
message. Audio prompts shall guide the caller through thevarious
options available. Subscribers shall be able to configure the mailbox
with a menu-driven system and record their own messages both locally
and from a remote location. Subscribers shall be able to: Remotely
access and manage their mailbox; call in and retrieve, delete, and
otherwise organize their voice mailbox (e.g. An option for a standard
message and a vacation message, which messsage greets the caller.); and
remotely record a new message. This should be menu driven. *Modularly
expandable means that if 4 ports are purchased and in the future 8
ports are needed, we have the ability to add 4 additional ports instead
of purchasing an entirely new 8 port module. A trade in policy is an
acceptable substitute. However, if the number of voice mailboxes or
storage is increased, the previously installed voice mailboxes and
storage will not have to be reprogrammed. At a minimum we must be able
to back up and restore what has been previously stored. Options
Required to be Available are (Provide pricing for these items):
Integration with Lotus Notes E-Mail package. The post office for Lotus
Notes is AIX (IBM's flavour of UNIX). The client software is AIX,
Windows, and Macintosh. Required integration is with Windows clients.
Integration with AIX and Macintosh clients is preferred. For the
purposes of voice mail, our LAN is IP based. Ability to integrate with
other E-Mail software, including POP3 post office is considered an
advantage. Software shall allow the subscriber to manage their voice
mailbox and it shall be Windows based. Availability of AIX and
Macintosh based software is an advantage. This solicitation is setaside
for small business only. Award shall be made on a "Best Value Price"
basis and other factors. The solicitation requires a quote for FOB
Destination to the Northern District Office in Fairbanks, Alaska. If
