Specialist, William Pinkston, Fax 202/283-1514. The Internal Revenue
Service (IRS) intends to negotiate on a firm fixed basis for services
of a registered nurse for its Detroit Computing Center located at 985
Michigan Ave, Detroit, MI. The Contractor personnel must be a
registered nurse licensed to practice in Michigan and have at least two
years of experience in light industrial or office environment. The
nurse shall be able to fluently read, write, and speak the English
language. The primary duties include, but are not limited to,
administering emergency care for illnesses of occupational and
non-occupational origin (headaches, colds, flu and fevers) and injuries
that occur at the place of work; giving hypodermic injections,
administering oxygen or CPR in emergencies, applying dressings, taking
and recording temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure;
counseling employees on various health subjects (nutrition, dental,
safety regimen and care of injuries and illnesses, etc.); coordinating
health unit services with local medical facilities for x-rays,
immunization programs, and other preventive practices. The nurse shall
ensure the health unit facility is maintained in a neat and orderly
manner, check stock and prepare requisition lists for medication,
linens, and other medical supplies. The contractor shall procure and
maintain at his/her own expense all necessary licenses and permits and
shall conform to all laws, regulations, and ordinances applicable to
the performance of the contract. The Government will provide all
equipment and medical supplies, except uniforms. The required services
shall be acquired under the policies and provisions of FAR Part 12 --
Acquisition of Commercial Items. The term of the contract shall be
from October 1, 1998 through September 30, 1999 with four one year
optional periods. No telephone request for the solicitation package
