A -- DASAG60-98-0020 -- INTERFEROMETRIC RADAR FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM ACCURACY DEMONSTRATION POC Victoria R. Binford, Contract Specialist, SMDC-CM-CN/Linda N. Bentley, Contracting Officer, SMDC-CM-CN, (205)955-1187 The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) intends to enter into a noncompetitive contract to test a Ku-Band interferometric radar fire control system. The intent is for the contractor to demonstrate the fire control system's ability to search, detect, and track selected air defense surrogate threats. Multiple targets of varying radar cross sections will be tracked. The radar cross section of the individual targets will vary from -- -10 to -20 dbsm. The period of performance for this effort will be six (6) months. The highest level of classification pertinent to this effort is SECRET/NORFORN. This effort will include the following major areas: (1) integrated field experiments, (2) advanced fire control system technology demonstration. There is no foreign participation expected on this acquisition. Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), this action is directed toward Technovative Applications to ensure continuity of effort for the interferometric radar fire control system. Due to their unique background and experience with the Interferometric Fire Control Systems, Technovative Applications is the only known source that can accomplish this effort. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, responses received from interested sources will be considered by the government. All responses should be directed to SMDC-CM-CN/Victoria R. Binford and must be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
