and coordinate disposal of ordnance dropped into the waters of the
Cooper River from Naval War Ships in 1943. The Ordnance at AOC 501
consist of two Mark 47 Torpex loaded depth bombs. The area to be
searched has been defined to approximately 1200 ft. X 400 ft. between
the Groin Break Wall and the Naval Degausing Station and the main
channel of the Cooper River and shoreline. The depth in this area is
approximately 35-45 feet of sea water. Period of Performance is 90
calendars days. Special Requirements: Workers must be graduates of a
school specializing in explosive ordnance disposal such as the U.S.
Army Bomb Disposal School, Aberdeen Proving Ground or the U.S. Navl
Explosive Ordnance Disposal School. Proof of liability insurance for
$10 million dollars general insurance. Contract award and
implementation is subject to review and approval by the Department of
Defense Explosives Safety Board. Price and Past Performance will be
used to award this contract. Solicitaion available on or about 3/3/98.
