Room 4410, Washington, DC 20590 A -- THE EFFECTIVENESS OF RETICULATED MICROPILE NETWORKS" SOL
DTFH61-98-Q-00042 DUE 032098 POC Stephanie D. Parker, Contract
Specialist, HAM40-G, (202)366-6014 The Federal Highway Administration
(FHWA) plans to negotiate with Cornell University to perform a research
study entitled, "The Effectiveness of Reticulated Micropile Networks."
The purpose of this research is to investigate the performance of
reticulated micropile networks to define optimum behavior for seismic
retrofit techniques. The investigation will involve test equipment
design and soil property characterization. The University of Cornell is
uniquely qualified to perform this work because they have developed a
unique concept for designing a micropile retrofit system and they are
also very knowledgeable on how the reticulated feature of the micropile
network system works. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the
anticipated award date is on or about 03/20/98. (0048) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0013 19980219\A-0013.SOL)
