Johnson Space Center plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for approximately 1,200 desktop workstations of two configurations including, 15" and 17" monitor multimedia systems. The anticipated contract will include delivery of state of the art hardware, and integration of standard software load (provided by the Government). This procurement will be conducted under the NASA MidRange Procedures, approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. The Government intends to acquire these commercial items using FAR Part 12. JSC will evaluate each offer received against the Statement of Work (SOW) in the solicitation (including relevant experience and past performance) for the purpose of selecting the offer which best meets the Government's requirements. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the Government. The anticipated release date for the RFO is on or about March 2,1998, with an anticipated offer due date of on or about April 2, 1998. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B".
