Postal Service is soliciting proposals to install a new addressable
fire alarm system in the original portion of the Hartford, CT
Processing & Distribution Center at 141 Weston St. in Hartford. Work
includes, but is not limited to, electrical demolition; raceways &
fittings; wire, cable and connections; electrical equipment
connections; boxes & fittings; and a multiplex fire alarm system. The
estimated cost of the work is between $100,000.00 and $200,000.00, with
completion within ninety (90) calendar days after receipt of notice to
proceed. Sealed offers will be received in this office prior to, but
no later than, 4:00 p.m. on March 5, 1998. Offers will not be publicly
opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors,
the amount of any offer, or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT
BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until award of contract is made. Proposal
documents, plans and specifications will be available o/a February 3,
1998 at a cost of $25.00 per set (non-refundable) from the Facilities
Service Office, U. S. Postal Service, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT
06006-0300. Certified checks or money orders only, made payable to the
Disbursing Officer, U. S. Postal Service (Reference Solicitation No.
082530-98-A-0059). Plans may be inspected at the issuing office and
information regarding their availability may be obtained by contacting

technical aspects of the proposal should be directed to Bruce Ness at
(802) 773-7016. There will be a preproposal conference for this project
on Thursday, February 19, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at the site. Prospective
