contracts are contemplated for emergency and rapid response services
for the removal of hazardous substances to be conducted under Section
104 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and
Liability Act of 1980 ("Superfund"). RFP number PR-R3-98-10057, issue
date on or about March 13, 1998. The proposed contracts will each
include a minimum of $100,000 of cleanup work and a maximum to be
negotiated. The period of performance will be one year with three-one
year options. The contractors will provide needed cleanup equipment,
personnel, materials and other resources to accomplish containment,
countermeasures, cleanup, mitigation, restoration, transportation and
disposal of hazardous substances releases in EPA, Region III
(Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and the
District of Columbia). It is anticipated that the procurement will
result in three contract awards with primary response coverage as
follows: Area 1 -- Pennsylvania west of Harrisburg and all of West
Virginia; Area 2 -- Pennsylvania east of Harrisburg, the entire State
of Delaware, the District of Columbia and the entire State of Maryland;
Area 3 -- the entire State of Virginia. The response time requirement
is 48 hours. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) for this
action is 8744, Environmental Remediation, size standard -- 500
