synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is
DTCG40-98-Q-70010. This synopsis/solicitation constitutes a Request for
Quotation (RFP) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-3. Applicable Standard
Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 4899, size $11.0 million. The
acquisition is for the procurement of Akusta Digital IC System,
quantity one (1) each, consisting of the following: 1) PA/GA Control
Rack, Akusta P/N 002, quantity one (1) each, 2) Access Panel (4X Zones
& All Call) Akusta P/N 101, quantity one (1) each, 3) UPS, 20 MINS,
110VAC IN/ 110VAC OUT, Akusta P/N 201, quantity one (1) each, 4) RS422
to RS232 Converter, Akusta P/N 301, quantity three (3) each, 5) RS422
to RS232 Converter Weatherproof, Akusta P/N 302, quantity one (1)
each, 6) Fernsig Weatherproof telephone, Akusta P/N 9602.7202, quantity
three (3) each, 7) Motorola UHF Base Unit, Duples, Akusta P/N GR900,
quantity one (1) each, 8) Motorola Radio, Full Keypad, Aqua Bag,
Programming, Akusta P/N GP300, quantity two (2) each, 9) Engineering,
Software and 2 set documents, Akusta P/N OIM, quantity one (1) each,
10) Plywood case packaging suitable for Airfreight, Akusta P/N PAK,
quantity one (1) each, 11) Factory acceptance test at Macclesfield,
Akusta P/N FAT, quantity one (1) each. This System shall include the
manufacturer's best standard Commercial Warranty. NOTE: NO DRAWINGS,
SPECIFICATIONS OR SCHEMATICS ARE AVAILABLE FORM THIS AGENCY. Delivery
shall be F.O.B. Destination, to CGC Dependable, 4000 Coast Guard Blvd.,
Portsmouth, VA 23703. It is anticipated that a non-competitive sole
source procurement will be issued to International Marine Products,
P.O. Box 2657, Laurel, MD 20709-2657under authority of 10 U.S.C.
2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302(1) unless additional sources are
located. Offerors are instructed to include a completed copy of FAR
provision 52.212-3, "Offerors Representation and Certification --
Commercial Items" with their proposal. A copy of clause 52.212-3 will
be provided upon request. The following FAR provisions and clauses
apply to this Request for Quotation and are incorporated by reference:

Offerors who choose to submit their proposal on an SF 1449 may contact

Conditions -- Commercial Items (Oct 1995). 52.212-5 Contract Terms and
Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders (Aug
1996) applies to this acquisition and the following clauses cited in
the clause are applicable to this acquisition: 52.222-26, Equal
Opportunity (E.O 11246); 52.222-35, Affirmative Action for Special
Disabled and Vietnam Era Veterans (38 U.S.C. 4212); 52.222-36,

52.212-5: FAR Clause 52.215-2, Audit and Records-Negotiation, is hereby
incorporated by reference in this Request for Proposal. The following
evaluation procedures are included as an addendum to FAR Clause
52.212-2: All responsible and responsive sources are invited to express
their interest and ability to provide the above described item, via fax
in writing, to Mrs. Catherine Baskin not later than 06 February 1998.
