The Direct Reporting Program Manager (DRPM) for the Marine Corps
Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) is conducting market
research to determine the commercial availability of a lightweight
track system for the AAAV. The track system must be available by 1
August 1999 in order to conduct testing prior to track selection. The
target weight of the AAAV is 74,500 lbs. The Track Shoe Width must be
21 inches, Track Shoe Thickness shall not exceed 3 inches including
rubber pad, Strand Length (2 per vehicle) is 51.5 feet. The AAAV track
weight shall not exceed 46 lbs. per foot. The AAAV requires a minimum
track life of 3,000 miles, with a minimum pad life of 1,000 miles.
Track must be capable of moving the AAAV at a sustained speed of 45
miles per hour. The track shall be interchangeable from side-to-side
and reversible on the same side. Additional Information is available on
