65 -- AUTOLOGOUS BLOOD AND PLATELET CONCENTRATES SOL RFP 509-34-98 DUE 030698 POC Faye S. Thomas 706-731-7176 VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia, contemplates negotiation of sole source procurement with Shepeard Community Blood Center for autologous blood, red cells and platelet concentrate, random donor, and anti-human T lymphotropic virus type 2 (HTLV-2) testing of all blood donors, for the period April 15, 1998 through April 14, 1999. Contract requires supplier to collect, process, label, store and transport red cells donations from VA autologous patients to VA Medical Center Tranfusion Service to allow donations before surgery to be used after surgery, if needed. Contract also requires facility to supply random donor platelet concentrates to VA Medical Center Transfusion Service. Products must be delivery or available for pickup so that delivery to the VA Medical Center Transfusion Service will occur within 30 minutes from the time the order is placed with the supplier. Contract requires all processing tests. All procedures, methods, protocols are to be in accordance with FDA/AABB requirements. Negotiations to begin on or about March 6, 1998. (0028)
