MODIFICATION TO PROCUREMENT NOTICE SUBMISSION NO. 146171 DATED NOVEMBER
26, 1997- TO ALERT CONTRACTORS OF A FORTHCOMING SOLICITATION -- REQUEST
FOR PROPOSAL "REPAIR/REPLACE POWER POLES ON RANDSBURG WASH ROAD"- The
Contractor will be required to furnish all labor, materials, equipment
and supervision required to repair/replace power poles along a 34.5 KV
pole line. Repair the crossarms and related apputenances to the
transmission lines from the Burro Facility at the Intersection of State
Highway 178 and Randsburg Wash access Road to the intersection of Red
Mountain/Trona Road and Randsburg Wash Access Road. Replace Power poles
crossarms and insulators and related work. This contract will be
awarded based on the past performance and management qualifications of
offerors, as well as on the basis of price. Section 00202 of the
specification should therefore be read thoroughly and in its entirety
to insure that adequate and proper data is provided for evaluation
purposes. All work will be conducted by the contractor on flex Fridays
and weekends. The work will be performed with the power shut-down and
only one weekend per month is available to accomplish the work. All
vehicular traffic associated with the procurement will be conducted
only on the existing dirt road(s) located under the utility lines and
will utilize existing turnout areas. No new areas will be disturbed by
work associated with this procurement. The Government has determined
that no staging areas are required for this action, that the contractor
shall stage all operations from trucks located upon the existing dirt
road(s). No new staging areas will be created for this action All
workers who will be on-site accomplishing work associated with the
project shall be required to receive a Desert tortoise protection
briefing, prior to accessing the site. The briefing will be conducted
by the Environmental Project Office Code 83E000D at the Naval Air
Weapons Station, China Lake, CA These requirements will be strictly
adhered to and will be monitored by the EPO. Performance time -- ALL
WORK ON THIS PROJECT SHALL BE COMPLETED BY SEPTEMBER 14, 1998.
Potential offerors should request RFP N62474-97-R-1924 in writing not
later than 30 January 1998. The proposals will be due approximately 30
days later. This solicitation is non-restricted -- Full and open
competition. The SIC Code is 1623. The related small business size
standard is $17.0 Million. Firm fixed price contract. The estimated
cost range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Please note that the
Naval Air Weapons Station will only accept written requests) for
solicitation documents. PROSPECTIVE OFFERORS SHALL BE CHARGED FOR THE
SOLICITATION BASED ON THE COST OF REPRODUCTION OF THE PLANS AND
