R -- SYSTEMS CONFIGURATION SET SUPPORT FOR THE AV-8B AIRCRAFT SOL N68936-98-R-0048 POC Kathleen Watkins, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-8165 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure, on an other than full and open competition basis, systems integration support for the AV-8B Joint System Support Activity at China Lake, CA. The contract is to investigate and document of anomalies and proposed upgrades of System Configuration Sets (CSC) to include avionics and weapons, and the development, verification/validation support, and testing of tactical software of these upgrades. This contract will also cover studies and analyses related to avionics integration and includes all efforts required to accomplish integration, testing, and fleet support. Negotiations will be conducted with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO. MDC is the designer and developer of the aircraft and is the sole repository of specifications, drawings, special tools, and engineering and software experise necessary to provide support for the AV-8B aircraft and its systems. A level-of-effort, CPFF contract is contempleted for a five year period starting 1 June 98 for approximately 740,000 hours including options. Solicitation to be issued on or about 18 Feb 98.
