The Upper Columbia Area Office, Yakima, Washington has a requirement to modernize their data collection system on the Hydromet. Currently remote (dial-in) users login to VAX and run a utility called MANPOL which allows them to poll and an individual site, a predefined group of sites, or the entire system of EG&G sites. Furthermore, they can specify whether the data is simply presented on the screen or else routed to DMS Dayfiles. The EG&G system will be replaced by a radio network of SSP units (8210's with 9000 concentrator). PCBASE2 running on an NT 4.0 server will function as the base station for this system. It will poll the field units on a regular interval. The problems are: the data collected by PCBASE2 needs to be post-processed and stored under the VAX DMS system. Remote (dial-in) users need to poll select sites in real-time. During the field site transition from EG&G to Sutron, the dial-in user will need to be able to poll either site. At this time we anticipate a sole source award, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, to Sutron Integrated Systems Division, 21300 Ridgetop Cir, Sterling VA 2016-6520. All sources responding to this synopsis shall submit information relating to business status, including identification as to whether small, large, minority-owned, and/or women-owned.
