Date: February 18, 1998. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials,
equipment, transportation supervision and disposal necessary for the
removal of 440 SF flat seam metal roofing, 700 SF of asbestos roofing
shingles, and 200 LF of aluminum gutters and downspout, install 440 SF
of new plywood decking and terne coated stainless steel roofing, 700
SF asphalt shingles, 200 LF of aluminum gutters and downspouts, 900 SF
of painting and incidental related work. Project location is Stepping
Stones Lighthouse, Long Island Sound. Access to the island can only be
gained via boarding ladder, lighthouse is located offshore. Completion
time is 60 days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost
of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation packages

is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration
Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS
INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS
ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any prime or
subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables
firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0
million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT
Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000. For
