Marshall_Christine%PAX9B@MR.NAWCAD.NAVY.MIL. 17. The Metals, Ceramics
and NDE Branch (Code 4.3.3) of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft
Division intends to procure based on full and open competition, an
ultrasonic workstation capable of performing pulse-echo immersion A-,
B- and C-Scans on a wide range of polymer matrix composites and
metallic structures. It must be capable of imaging and analyzing the
data. The workstation must be automated in a manner to collect and
render without an operator present. This system must provide turnkey
installation, on-site training, and a standard industrial warranty. The
materials of interest may consist of multiple bonded layers and
different materials with complex curvatures. A typical application
includes high resolution B- and C- scan imaging of a composite repair
on a composite laminate to detect and quantify the depth, size and type
of discontinuity in the repaired structure. The system must be able to
perform automatic date collection requiring automatic control of x, y
z, and two angular axes plus turntable control. The system must be
capable of following complex geometries and have a minimum scanning
envelope of 3'x5'x2'. Additionally, system must be 100% compatible with
existing Ultra Image IV hardware and software. The software must be
capable of processing A, B and C-scan data collected with our other
Ultra Image IV units. The system must be capable of utilizing existing
Ultra Image IV hardware for replacement of hardware components and for
expansion of the system to include additional channels and degrees of
motion. The existing replacement/expansion hardware includes Ultra
Image motion control modules LS-100C-021 (x/y), LS-100C-032 (z), and
LS-100C-061 (angular manipulator). It also includes the LS-100U-010
programmable receiver board, the LS-100U-021 RPP1 pulser preamplifier,
and the LS-100U-012 expansion interface. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) Code for this effort is 3826 which has a size of
500 employees. ALL PROSPECTIVE OFFERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO USE
