3RD ANNUAL SPACE POLICY AND ARCHITECTURE SYMPOSIUM; "LEVERAGING COMMERCIAL SPACE SYSTEMS & INNOVATION IN ACQUISITION TO IMPROVE THE NATIONAL SECURITY SPACE PROGRAM" The Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Space will present the 3rd Annual Space Policy and Architecture Symposium on 25-26 February 1998 at the Crystal City Marriott Hotel, 1999 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia. Held in conjunction with the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), the event will consist of a 1 day program and will again feature very senior level participants from government agencies as well as industry. Active participation by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology, the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Space, the DOD Space Architect, and very senior officials from USSPACECOM, NASA, FAA, The Joint Staff, NRO, Congressional Staff, and Department of Commerce in both presentations and panel discussions will be featured. Senior level panels will discuss: "Commercial Practices and Acquisition Reform;" Government Use of Commercial Space Systems: Progress, Plans, & Possibilities;" and National Security Space Architectures: Where We areHeaded." In a special event this year, demonstrations on "Bringing Space to the Battlefield" will be presented by the NRO and the Services to include the Military Space Roadmap and others.
