CURRENT FACIAL RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque, New Mexico, with funding from the National Institute of Justice, is producing a document that will give an overview of current facial recognition technology. There is an interest in systems that perform verification and/or identification and in the particular types of applications that the systems are suited for. Included in this document will be commercial systems, systems in the development stages, and current research. The finished document will be used by various government organizations as a resource for determining the existence of any products or research that is closely related to their specific requirements. The document is not to be a comparison or evaluation of technology, but rather a comprehensive guide to "what's going on." Sandia is soliciting information from companies, universities, or other organizations interested in having their products or technology included in this document.
