COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 27,1998 PSA#2019Arnold Engineering Development Center, Attn: AEDC PKP, 100 Kindel
Drive, Suite A332, Arnold AFB TN 37389-1332 66 -- MACHINERY CONDITIONING MONITORING EQUIPMENT POC Alan C. Fudge,
Contracting Officer, 931-454-4406 This is a notice of intent to
negotiate a contract with Bentley Nevada Corp of Minden, NV for
machiner conditioning monitoring equipment. This equipment is for
motor/compressor drive trains typically consisting of a
14,000-28,500-HP, 1800-3600 RPM synchronous motor and 1800-3600 RPM
axial-flow compressor. This equipment will monitor radial vibration,
velocity, acceleration, thrust position, shaft RPM and phase, and
bearing temperature. It will also provide inputs to existing data
analysis systems, and communicate with networked control and monitoring
systems. It must have an LCD display which can either be mounted with
the monitoring system or up to 4,000 feet away. the dsiplay must be
capable of displaying all proportional values, including overall
vibration (displacement, velocity, acceleration), gap, 1X amplitude and
phase, temperatures, and other process variables, from each of the
monitors within its rack. Each display must have the capability of
providing a minimum of 20 user-configurable screens. The system shall
be capable of two-way communications with other systems (DCS or PLC
based) over a plant communications network via a standard protocol
(TCPIP or MODBUS). RS232/422 serial I/O capability shallbe available as
an option. All available monitored paramaters shall be available
through this communications link including overall value, gap, 1X
amplitude and phase, 2X amplitude and phase along with temperatures and
other process variables. The monitoring system, including the display,
will be software configurable (windows based) using any standard
personal computer running Windows 95/97 or Windows NT. Password
protection shall be provided for control of access to the rack
configuration. All equipment shall be compatible with existing Bentley
Nevada equipment. This synopsis is for a sole source action as
authorized by FAR 6.302-1. No solicitation documents are available.
However, interested sources may identify their interest by responding
to this notice. This response must provide proof of capability to
provide an acceptable product by submitting pricing data, an accurate
description of the equipment proposed demonstrating compliance with the
requirements described in this synopsis, and make and model numbers of
the equipment. Only responses containing this data will be considered
for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. See Numbered Note 22. (0023) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0239 19980127\66-0003.SOL)
