COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 26,1998 PSA#2018NDIA WORKSHOP ON SIMULATION BASED ACQUISITION, EVENT #879, MARCH 16 --
19, 1998 NDIA's Systems Engineering Committee,in coordination with the
office of the Director of Test, Systems Engineering & Evaluation, OUSD
(A&T), will present a workshop on Simulated Based Acquisition (SBA) at
the Adams Mark Hotel, Orlando, FL, on March 16 -- 19, 1998. The purpose
of the workshop is to present the concept as defined by the documents
to a broader industry and government audience to obtain a thorough
evaluation and entertain detailed discussion of their value and
potential effectiveness in achieving the SBA goals. The draft documents
will be provided as a read-ahead package to Workshop registrants. We
intend the Workshop to produce specific recommendations on how Industry
and Government should proceed to achieve both near-term and long-term
benefits of SBA. This is not a modeling and simulation workshop. This
workshop is intended for Program Executive Officers (PEO)/Program
Managers, Project Managers, Functional Design Managers who are
responsible for product acquisition and/or development, and are
interested in forming the Department of Defense vision and policy to
develop a tool set to help achieve DoD cycle time and Total Ownership
Cost (TOC) reduction goals. Prospective attendees should contact Angie
