The USA CECOM Acquisition Center Washington intends to issue IFB DAAB07-98-B-Y002 to procure Air Conditioners with a nominal cooling capacity of 9,000 British Thermal Units per Hour (BTUH) in the following configurations and quantities; Horizontal, 1,100 maximum and Vertical, 150 maximum. The contract will be a hybrid Firm Fixed Price (FFP) production with requirements contract features and will require the conduct of First Article Tests and the identification of provisional spare parts. There will be four one-year optional ordering periods during which additional units may be ordered beyond the initial buy of 350 units. Type of Action: Small Business Set-Aside; Sealed Bid. The required cooling capacity for both Horizontal and Vertical units is 9,000 BTUH at 1200F ambient temperature. The required heating capacity shall be 7,000 BTUH for the Horizontal configuration and 6,000 BTUH for the Vertical configuration. Input power supply shall be 115 volts, 1 phase, 50/60 Hz and the current draw shall not exceed 33 amps. The weight of each unit with a full refrigerant charge and all ancillary equipment shall not exceed 200 pounds. The refrigerant system shall be of the vapor-cycle type and furnished with a full charge of refrigerant conforming to ARI 700, R-22. The units are intended for use in cooling, dehumidifying, heating, filtering and circulating air in military portable shelters or vans to meet equipment and personnel requirements. Units shall be designed and constructed in accordance with Purchase Description (PD) #4120-0113B and #4120-0114B, which will be included in the solicitation package; and approved commercial, Federal and MIL standards listed in the solicitation package. It is anticipated that the IFB will be available on or about 24 February 1998 for downloading from the CECOM Acquisition Center Business Opportunity Homepage, located at http://acbop.monmouth.army.mil. No hard copies will be provided. The due date for bids is anticipated to be 3 April 1998.
