transportation required to replace the existing 40 foot tall steel
trussed tower rear range light. The new range tower shall be a monopole
tapered steel pole equipped with fixed ladder, Saf-T-Climb rail system,
tower platform, platform railing, daymark brackets, lantern brackets
and solar panel brackets. The Government shall provide protective film
for daymark fabrication. Government shall install lantern, solar panel
and battery box.. The work includes demolition and disposal of
galvanized steel angles/plates coated with lead base paint, concrete
anchor bolts/steel base plate anchorage to existing concrete foundation
and fabrication and erection of new 40" tall tapered monopole steel
tower. All work shall be completed within 120 calendar days after
receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This solicitation is issued under and
the resulting contract awarded under the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program (PL 100-656). The construction range is between
$25,000 and $100,000. Only faxed or written requests for bid packages
are acceptable. This notice is for informational purposes for minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are
available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
