published on 1/13/98 to extend the date for responses to 01/27/98. All
other information remains the same. The Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention intends to issue a noncompetitive award of a contract
for rental of the following facilities for the National HIV Prevention
Conference to be held during a 5-day period (Saturday through
Wednesday)between May 1998 and February 2, 1999. The conference must be
held within the Metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia area. The minimum space
requirements are as follows: (1) A ballroom/conference hall space which
will accommodate a minimum of 2500 persons (seated) for Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday. The ballroom must break down into three smaller
rooms, each accommodating between 500 and 1000 persons (seated). (2)
Several additional meeting rooms must be available to accommodate
additional overflow participants from the conference; (3) Exhibit Space
for a minimum of 200 exhibitors; (4) Press Room; (5) Quiet Room; (6)
Sickbay area; (7) Speaker Ready Room; (8) A minimum of 1800 sleeping
rooms will be required. Most sleeping rooms (approximately 800-1000)
will be located within the same facility where the conference is to be
held, with an additional 500 rooms in a hotel located within
comfortable walking distance of the conference, and an additional
300-500 rooms located in another hotel within comfortable walking
distance to the conference. Other considerations: proximity to the
Atlanta International Airport,public transportation available to the
facilities, restaurants and other points of interest in Atlanta metro
area, ability to provide sleeping rooms at the Government Rate in
effect at the time of the conference, ability to provide a wide variety
of accommodations (e.g., suites, deluxe, economy), ability to provide
all nonsmoking sleeping and conference facilities; other amenities
offered for conventions/conferences of this size. CDC proposes to make
the award to The Hyatt Regency Atlanta for the primary facilities and
sleeping roomsand to two other hotels within walking distance of the
