The following announcement should be of interest to offerors and
subcontractors interested in submitting offers under solicitation
N00024-98-R-2200 for Barracks Craft APL(Small)65/66. APL(Large)61 is
again available for all interested offerors to tour during the week of
January 12-16 from the hours of 0800-1600. The self guided Barracks
Craft tour will be on APL(Large)61 which is larger than those APLs
solicited under N00024-98-R-2200, but has the same mission and general
characteristics. The tour will provide offerors a specific idea of
what a Barracks Craft is. There will be no briefings or conferences,
only a tour. Any questions asked that are pertinent to the APL(Small)
procurement may be submitted in writing after the tour. Such questions
will be answered later by solicitation amendment. APL 61 is located at
the Naval Amphibious Base (NAB), Little Creek, VA. A maximum of three
persons per company will be permitted. Interested parties must submit
by fax visit requests to SUPSHIP Portsmouth, Mr. George Maples, Phone
(757) 396-5447, Fax (757) 396-3170 and NAVSEA, Stephen V. Piasecki, FAX
703/602-7360. These requests must contain the following information:
name, SSN, employer, company position, company address, phone number,
date of visit, and purpose of visit. Directions from Norfolk
International Airport to NAB Little Creek follow: Upon exiting the
airport take Azalea Garden road to Interstate 64E. Follow this
Interstate and exit at North Hampton Blvd. Take this exit then follow
the signs to NAB Little Creek. The Pass and I. D. Office is at the
intersection of Independence Blvd. and Shore Drive. Directions within
NAB Little Creek from Gate 5 to APL 61 can be obtained from the Pass
and I. D. Office. The use of photographic/video equipment on board APL
