rmcminn@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to award a
sole source contract to Kearfott Guidance and Navigation Systems,
Totowa, New Jersey for the maintenance and field support of the Towed
Weapon Inertial Navigation System (TWINS), currently being manufactured
by Kearfott. An average repair turn around of 14 days is required. The
TWINS is an integral component in the digital fire control system for
the 155mm Automated Howitzer. The TWINS provides navigation, gun
position, aiming and pointing data to the mission manager. Essentially
the TWINS provides the primary information necessary for the 155
Automated Howitzer. It is anticipated that this effort will be for a
