NASA Langley Research Center plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for services and materials to fabricate, test, install, and checkout a hydraulic actuated oscillating turntable. System shall consist of steel support frame turntable with a pitch hydraulic drive system. Turntable shall be mounted on tracks for retraction ease, and include a rotating shaft, bearings, a brake system, a strut, and test model. Pitch drive system shall be integrated with the turntable, and include a rotary actuator, servo valve, hydraulic power supply, hydraulic service manifold, a brake manifold, and an electrical servo motion control system, power and control, including cable connections. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3559 and 500 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFP and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-02. All qualified responsiblesources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the Agency. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about January 27, 1997, with an anticipated offer due date of on or about February 27, 1998. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement (with the exception of the specifications and drawings) will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
