41 -- REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF ONE FIFTY (50) TON MCQUAY CHILLER SOL 5-91H2-98 DUE 021398 POC Ken Eason, 510/559-6018, FAX 510/559-6023 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, has a requirement for the removal and replacement of a fifty (50) ton McQuay chiller, with a new fifty (50) ton McQuay chiller, Model WHR 060-EW, or equal type chiller of the same size, including installation and warranty. The fifty (50) ton chiller replacement is the third and last of three McQuay chiller replacements at the Western Cotton Research Laboratory, Phoenix, Arizona. Work shall consist of removal and replacement of the existing McQuay fifty (50) ton chiller. The replacement chiller should be a two compressor unit, with either compressor able to be the lead or lag compressor. The chiller should have unloaders on each compressor. The unloaders should be operated by water temperature. Each compressor must have high, low, and oil pressure overloads, automatic and manual pumpdowns, and crankcase heaters. Also, each compressor should have suction, discharge, and oil pressire gauges, liquid line filters and sight glasses. Compressors will be interlocked with both the chilled water and condenser water circulating pumps. If one of the pumps should fail it would shut down the compressors. The four (4) thermometers in the chilled water and condensate water lines will be replaced. Existing chilled water and condenser water pipes will be used when possible. Work will involve some asbestos abatement. Installation will include all electrical wiring and connections to fused disconnect, and for the interlocks to the pumps. The control panel on this chiller needs to face to the west and the compressors to the east. In order for this to happen there will be some rerouting of the chilled water lines. Reinsulate any new or existing chilled water lines. Price to include an extended four (4) year warranty on the compressors for a total of five (5) years. All interested firms are encouraged to attend the site visit as scheduled in the Request for Quotation. Request for Quotation No. 5-91H2-98 will be available on or about January 20, 1998. Requests for a copy of the Request forQuotation may be mailed to the address shown above or faxed to 510/559-6023.***** (0007)
