COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 7,1998 PSA#2006Social Security Administration, Office of Acquisition and Grants, 1710
Gwynn Oak Avenue, Baltimore, Md. 21207-0696 D -- INTEGRATED SOFTWARE SUPPORT SERVICES CONTRACT POC Jane M. Quinn
Tel: (410) 965-9495 The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to
negotiate with Lockheed Martin Services, Inc. on a sole-source basis to
increase the level of effort during the last year (February 1, 1998
through January 31, 1999) of the Integrated Software Support Services
Contract (ISSSC). This is a one-time interim action pending award of a
fully competitive follow-on contract anticipated in November 1998
whose first contract year will be at a level of support comparable to
the new total envisioned for this last year of the ISSSC. Other than
full and open competition for this increased level of effort is
justified because only Lockheed Martin has the inherent knowledge of
the SSA computing environment, software, hardware, and Client-Server
platform configurations which allows them to continue to support these
systems with minimum disruption and duplication of effort during this
last year of the ISSSC. No solicitation is available. See Note 22.
