C -- A/E DESIGN SERVICES TO RENOVATE PALLIATIVE CARE BUILDING SOL 590-208 DUE 021098 POC Sandra Edwards (757) 728-3114 The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Engineering design services required for Project 590-208, Renovate Palliative Care Building at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia. The project will require field investigation, development of four conceptual drawings, development of working drawings and specifications, construction period services, cost estimates and certain other items. The best concept out of four possible scenarios will be choosen. Project will either renovate approximately 17,000 square feet of an existing 1940's building which shall include all Architectual, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Structural work or renovate two other buildings or construct a new building. Using VA space planning criteria and VA design criteria, the A/E shall layout the area to effectively and efficently utilize the designed space. Estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Selection criteria shall include (1) experience in type of work required; (2) professional qualifications and experience of the staff to be assigned; (3) ability to accomplish work within required time frames; (4) past performance as related to quality of work, meeting schedule and keeping within scope; (5) area of consideration limited to 250 mile radius of the Medcial Center.
