This project consists of constructing a new campground and day use area. Campground includes 2,200 feet or road, 14 campsites, 430 feet of gravel and boardwalk trail, 2 potable water systems, 3 vault toilets, and miscellaneous appurtenances. Day use area includes 60 feet of road and parking area, 2 picnic sites and 1 picnic shelter, 200 feet of gravel trail, 40 ft. log stringer trail bridge, 1 potable water system, 1 vault toilet, and miscellaneous appurtenances. The project site is located on Prince of Wales Island, southeast Alaska, on the Hollis-Klawock highway approximately 20 miles from Craig, Alaska, and 20 miles from Hollis, Alaska where the highway crosses the Harris River. Access to the project site is by Alaska Marine Highway to Hollis or by small plane or boat. Roads from Hollis and Craig are paved. Contract is to be completed by 12/1/98.
